The size of a tooth is small, but despite that it consists of very many parts. The anatomy of the tooth is interesting and complicated. A tooth consists of dental crown, gum line, root of the tooth, enamel, dentin and the pulp of the tooth. The part of the tooth that we can see is the crown. The crown itself consists of more parts, at the outermost part of the crown you find the enamel. The enamel is the hardest material of all materials in the body. An enamel that has been broken can never be fixed to what it was, and therefore we need to be very careful with taking care of the enamel. Inside of the enamel we find the dentin. Despite dentin is a bone it is a soft material.
Under the dental crown is the root of the tooth. And inside there we fint the pulp of the tooth. The pulp is flesh with nerves in it. If you suffer from severe caries may the pulp hurt. The gum line is the area where tooth and gum meet.
The row of teeth consists of different types of teeth with several purposes. Out front teeth are sharp and works as a knife when we eat some types of food. In our mouth there also is four canines, these are located between our front teeth and our molars. The molars are located at the back of the row of teeth. Some of us, almost everyone in fact, also have wisedom teeth. These tends to implicate problems and many people choose to remove them with surgery.
